Only a few months ago, it was planned to hold DMEXCO 2020 physically and digitally. One of the reasons for this was the booking volume of early bird registrations, which significantly exceeded the figures for previous years. For the 2-day show, which in 2019 welcomed 1,000 exhibitors, 700 speakers and around 40,000 visitors, this was great feedback from the industry. However, the Corona pandemic and its effects do not stop at the established trade fair. Many exhibitors are not yet ready for a trade fair in presence due to concerns about the health of their employees and customers. In addition, the Corona pandemic has put many companies in an uncertain economic situation. This has a direct impact on their trade fair planning. The team around the Senior Vice President of Koelnmesse, Christoph Werner, responded to the wishes of the customers. Therefore this year DMEXCO will be held completely digitally.
On the 23rd and 24th of September 2020 the digital doors of the DMEXCO @home are far opened and is held on the particularly for it developed platform where businesses can network and do business.. In addition to live streams of the conference, deep dives and interactive master classes, everything will revolve around exchange and interaction. The program includes over 100 video hours and addresses current and upcoming challenges in the areas of media, marketing and technology and the DMEXCO community worldwide can follow the discussions, panels and presentations of the speakers in the DMEXCO Conference and also access them afterwards as video on demand. The fully integrated digital event platform allows speakers from all over the world to present themselves or be connected to the event.
But that’s not all: exhibitors such as WallDecaux, Adsquare or VIOOH will be present at the trade fair and will present themselves to DMEXCO @home visitors in their own brand showrooms on the interactive “Brand Showfloor”. In addition to presenting their products, the exhibitors will be able to do business with customers. And if that’s not enough, the “Virtual Café” offers a chance to talk to the exhibitors. Ticket buyers can also communicate with each other in audio/video rooms or via text chat, arrange meetings or exchange contact details.
Even for experienced participants, the first fully digital DMEXCO offers many innovative features and exciting new developments. A few of the top-class speakers have already teased on the DMEXCO @home website what insights participants can take away with them at this year’s DMEXCO @home and what thematic highlights they can expect.
