Once a year POOL presents a selection of fascinating dance film productions from all over the world and becomes a meeting point for creative artists from dance, film, fashion and advertising. The focus of the festival is on films that create independent film choreographies from the close interplay of cinematic and dance movement.
POOL was founded in 2007 and is based at DOCK 11.
All dancers, choreographers, filmmakers and artists with dance short films and dance animations can apply. The films should not exceed a length of 30 minutes and should not be a pure documentation of a performance.
From all submissions, the POOL 21 curatorial team will create a film program and select the winning films, the PEARLS 21.
PEARLS are the equal winning films of POOL and are awarded with prize money.
The PEARLS ARTIST PRIZE will be awarded to artists* who continuously produce high-quality work in the field of dance film.
