Neue Nationalgalerie reopens in August 2021

After being renovated over six years at a cost of 140 million euros, the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin is scheduled to reopen this summer in 2021. On April 29, the project management symbolically and digitally handed over the keys of the museum to the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, which is responsible for the state museums.

“This is a great day that we can reopen this wonderful museum, one of the most important museums of modernism, that visitors can enjoy this again, as a place to encounter art. Of course, we hope that the pandemic will allow this to happen soon.” So the head of the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation, Hermann Parzinger.

The opening is also already planned. The museum is scheduled to open to visitors as early as August 21 this year. Open days are planned for the end of May.
